It only takes a small angle and you end up in a completely different place. Who are you when everything you know is gone? when all you see is new and you have to turn indifference into curiosity. Who are you without your flesh? raw and naked, trying to find something defined only in the language of the chemistry flowing through your head. Who are you when time has passed? when you’re no longer young and yet not old enough to make conclusions of the kind that drive you to dwell in this uncertainty.
Who are you now? That’s something you only get to find out much later, in a different place, inside another skin, while asking yourself a whole new world worth of questions.
And so we thrive searching for the one thing that follows you, no matter where you go.
